Advisor: Ryan McCaffery This project explores the integration of structural and building systems within a mid-rise office building designed with a straw-bale envelope. Conceived as a systems-driven architectural study, the project examines how structural logic, mechanical distribution, and life-safety requirements can be coordinated to support spatial flexibility while maintaining constructability within a dense urban context.
The building is organized around a clear structural hierarchy that establishes consistent spans, accommodates programmatic variation, and allows mechanical systems to be embedded within the structural depth rather than treated as secondary layers.
